How does it work?

You bring your pattern, fabric, and notions and use our studio space to tackle your project. An instructor will be there to help guide you, as needed.

**Open Studio is not technically a class, but we will teach you a lot while you're here! It is a time for you to sew what you want with an instructor available to help when you need it.

**This is not a pattern drafting class, however we are happy to help you adjust your pattern for fit before you cut and sew.

SKILLS REQUIRED: **PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS**

You MUST have taken our Learn to Sew 101-103 classes OR have the equivalent skills. What does this
mean? You MUST know how to operate a sewing machine and have experience sewing several beginner
projects.

If you plan to make clothing during Open Studio we recommend you that you first take Adult
Beginner Clothing so that you will have a basic understanding of how to read and use sewing patterns.
You will be expected to read your pattern instructions and work through your project on your own, but
we'll be right there to help when you need it.

You may also work on alterations during Open Studio. If you are new to alterations and have never sewn
clothing, please take our Alterations Workshop first.

SUPPLIES LIST: **PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS**

In order for us to keep the price of Open Studio as low as we can, you MUST bring your own:

Sewing machine needles appropriate for the fabric you will be using

Bobbins (If you're using our machines you are welcome to use our bobbins, but you can't take them home
with you and they may be filled with YOUR thread, so please bring your own plastic Class 15 bobbins.
These are the kind most home sewing machines use. Check your manual to know what your machine
requires.)

The notions you need will be listed on the envelope of your sewing pattern. If you have any questions
