Sewing 102
Pillow Cover with Invisible Zipper

KEEP LEARNING:
Use the skills you learned in Sewing 101 and learn a new skill. In this class you will make a beautiful Pillow Cover with an Invisible Zipper. You can do it!
SKILLS REQUIRED:

Sewing 101 or equivalent skills. You must be familiar with operating a sewing machine to take this class. Instructor will not have time for teaching basic sewing machine operation.

Sewing 103
Tote Bag

HONE YOUR SKILLS:
Make a lined, interfacing stabilized tote bag.
This is a great introduction to the many uses of interfacing. Interfacing is used in all sorts of sewing and craft projects from bags and purses, to collars and waistbands, etc.
SKILLS REQUIRED:

Sewing 101 and 102 or equivalent skills. You must be familiar with operating a sewing machine and sewing in a straight line to take this class. Instructor will not have time for teaching basic sewing machine operation.

3/4 yard of woven fabric for outer bag. Suggested fabrics: quilting cotton, lightweight denim or chambray, light to medium weight upholstery fabric

1/2 yard of fabric for bag lining. Suggested fabrics: quilting cotton, broadcloth.

DO NOT bring a stretchy or slippery fabric for any part of this bag.

Woven Top

UP YOUR GAME:
In this class you will learn to take body measurements and measure pattern pieces to get the best fit from your commercial pattern. You will learn to read the pattern instructions and understand what pattern markings mean and how they are used. You will use these skills to sew a cute top.

Pajama Pants

INTRODUCTION TO PANTS:
Learn to use a commercial pattern to sew a pair of pajama pants with slash pockets and buttonholes for drawstring.
Learn to measure a pattern for fit and make minor adjustments, if needed. This is an intro level fit class.
This is a six hour class taken in one day, with a lunch break. Or two, three hour classes taken during the same week.
SKILLS REQUIRED:

This is NOT A BEGINNER CLASS. You must be competent at operating a sewing machine to take this class. Instructor will not have time for teaching basic skills like threading your machine or winding a bobbin. Please take Sewing 101 through 104, or have a solid understanding of sewing machine operation and sewing basics before signing up for this class.

Student MUST bring ALL of the following items:

Three to four yards (depending on your size) of pre-washed and ironed woven quilting cotton, cotton lawn, chambray, or linen/linen blend.

DO NOT bring a stretch knit fabric for this class.

Matching thread

Enough 1 Inch wide non-roll elastic to go all the way around your waist.

Optional: Enough twill tape or drawstring material of your choice for drawstring to go all the way around your waist and tie in a bow.

Sew with Assistance

FREEDOM TO SEW:
This class is for people who are proficient in the skills taught in Sewing 101-104 and are ready to tackle commercial patterns. You bring your pattern, fabric, and notions and we'll help you as you tackle your project.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
You MUST know how to operate a sewing machine and know the basics of reading a commercial pattern to take these classes. If you are not sure you have the skills for these classes, call or email and we'll discuss it. Please allow me to guide you in choosing a project that is appropriate for your skill level.
Register for two hour time slots to use the Easy Going Sewing Studio. This is time for you, or a group of your friends, to sew without distractions! There will be four spots open per two hour time slot. Fill them up with you and your friends, or sign up and see who you may meet that day.
SUPPLIES REQUIRED:

You may use our sewing machines and sergers, cutting tables, and irons and ironing boards. You may also bring your own machines and irons.

Our machines are Janome 2212's. These are basic mechanical sewing machines. If you use our machines you may use our zipper, top stitch and button hole feet, and bobbins.

You must bring all of your your own supplies including; fabric, thread, pattern, scissors, pins.
