Embroidery and Sashiko (Beginner)

In this lovely 4-week series, you'll explore a variety of essential embroidery stitches - chain stitch, blanket stitch, seed stitch, French knots, and more - plus Sashiko, the beautiful Japanese art of visible mending. You'll also learn which fabrics work best for embroidery, how to use beeswax to get prettier stitches, and how and when to use knots like a pro.

Sashiko is a Japanese form of needlework used to visibly mend or reinforce clothing. Sashiko was traditionally used to mend fabric, reinforce areas of high wear, or join multiple layers of fabric for warmer or more structured garments. This practice stems from the concept of Wabi-Sabi, which embraces beauty in impermanence and imperfection.
