About the Course
Jean Jacket Workshop
Now that you have learned to use your sewing machine and have sewn a few things, let's kick it up a notch! Sew a classic jean jacket using Simplicity 8845 in this exciting two day workshop.
IMPORTANT: This class is only for those who are serious about learning to sew and are willing to take the time to prepare before class. At least one week before class you must come to Easy Going Sewing to pick up your pattern, get measured, and choose your fabric. You will then need to pre-wash your fabric and prepare your pattern pieces before class. Don’t worry! We’ll guide you through the process.
In this 2 day workshop, students will:
Layout, mark, and cut fabric
Apply interfacing
Construct a collar, cuffs, pockets, and more!
Learn top stitching techniques for denim
Install KAMsnap jeans buttons and make buttonholes
Some homework may be necessary to ensure you complete your project in two classes. You may also sign up for Open Studio if you need extra time.
